Telstra Certifies Quectel’s VoLTE-based Cat 1 Modules for Australia

Quectel Wireless Solutions has announced that Telstra has certified its LTE Cat 1 modules EC21-AU and EC21-AU Mini PCIe for operation on the carrier’s 4G network, including VoLTE service in Australia. The EC21-AU and its Mini PCIe variant join a long list of Telstra certified Quectel modules and offer additional options for IoT developers and OEMs across Australia and New Zeland.

Based on Qualcomm’s MDM9x07 chipset, the EC21-AU and EC21-AU mini PCIe modules deliver DL speed rate of 10 Mbps DL and UL speeds of 5 Mbps. They support LTE FDD bands B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B28 and LTE TDD band B40, with 3G fallback on bands B1/B2/B5/B8 and 2G fallback on bands B2/B3/B5/B8. Available as PCB mounted LCC form factor, the EC21-AU is compatible with Quectel’s UC20-G 3G module, EC25-AU and EC25-AUTL 4G Cat 4 modules to fast track 3G to 4G migration with the minimum development effort.

EC21-AU and EC21-AU Mini PCIe integrate a multi-Constellation GNSS receiver, greatly simplifying product design and providing faster and more accurate positioning for asset tracking and fleet management applications. The modules can competitively address all IoT verticals offering longevity, reliability and assured Quality of Service.
