Koaxis Continues Operation During COVID-19 Outbreak

Koaxis, the Pennsylvania-based RF cable assemblies manufacturer, has decided to continue their manufacturing operation through the COVID-19 outbreak. On March 19, Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf, ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses in Pennsylvania to close their physical locations, to slow the spread of COVID-19. The company thus, after reviewing the order, has decided to manufacture under the assumption that Koaxis is one of the businesses permitted to maintain operations at its physical location.

Their primary NAICS code (NAICS 334419 - Other Electronic Component Manufacturing) classifies Koaxis as a business that can operate during this time. Some Koaxis products, including, orders currently in-house, are also key components in Navigational, Measuring, Electro-medical, and Control Instruments equipment; which are also considered life-sustaining businesses under this order.

Additionally, Koaxis currently manufactures and has orders in-house that are rated and certified for national defense use under Defense Priorities and Allocations System regulation (15 CFR 700). As part of its mission and commitment to supporting US Military and Security programs, Koaxis is committed to continuing to manufacture its products to ensure a stable supply chain for vital Defense programs. The company is in direct contact with its elected officials and local authorities to ensure that it remains up to date and co-operative throughout this difficult time.

The company maintains significant cable and connector inventory and it has no reported disruptions from its supply chain. The Koaxis supply chain is based almost entirely in the US with very limited exposure in Canada and Europe. The company has spoken with its employees and it is taking preventive and regular action in the area of cleanliness and disinfection. Office employees are able to have been working remotely, in order to eliminate potential vectors into Koaxis Operations. Koaxis’ current production is well ahead of schedule and it is working proactively to extend this lead in finished orders so as to minimize any potential disruption to their customers' schedules.
