Nuhertz Technologies Introduces Cascaded Quadruplet Topology for Micro Strip RF Filter Design

Filter design software from Nuhertz Technologies® provides fast, easy to use, and high powered solutions to electrical engineering challenges in synthesizing, analyzing, and simulating complex filter designs. They have recently introduced a new cascaded quadruplet topology for micro strip RF filter design.

The quadruplet stages are composed of cross coupled ring resonators or miniaturized hairpins that are cascaded together to form a compact band pass design with steep side walls and transmission zeros, thereby maximizing space utilization of the board. This filter configuration supports both single layer and multilayer boards. Integrated electromagnetic optimization is supported through Nuhertz partners including AWR, CST, IMST and Sonnet, including automated port tuning through AWR and the CST coupling matrix optimizer.

According to Jeff Kahler, technical director at Nuhertz Technologies, efficient planar filter designs should not be difficult, it makes sense to make the design tools do the horse work so the designer does not have to.

Nuhertz Technologies has rapidly established itself as a worldwide leader in low and high frequency filter synthesis and analysis. The company has developed numerous revolutionary synthesis algorithms unparalleled in either industry or academia. Its programs deliver a new level of design automation and productivity improvement, unequaled by any other design synthesis program on the market. The company’s mission is to provide dramatic improvements in design efficiency and performance through quick and easy use of the industry’s most sophisticated design synthesis algorithms.
