The SoftZorb MCS from Laird is an Absorbing Material for telecom equipment such as optical transceiver cavities and antennas. It is designed for the frequency range from 800 MHz to 18 GHz and has a volume resistivity of 6.05 x 1012 ohm-cm. The SoftZorb offers easier deflection (over 20 dB @ 50 psi) for use in cavities whenever a lid may potentially contact with and compress the absorber, causing possible damage to other components. In addition, Softzorb MCS’ ability to more thoroughly fill the cavity greatly increases absorber performance by limiting leakage around the absorber.
The SoftZorb MCS is available in dark grey sheets with a density of 4.2 g/cc and 10% thickness tolerance. It can be used in telecom, industrial, consumer, and automotive applications.
