The OMNI-A0258 from Alaris Antennas is a Monitoring Antenna that operates from 20 to 1000 MHz (Band A) and 1 to 9 GHz (Band B). This vertically polarized antenna provides a gain of 8 dBi and has a VSWR of less than 2.5.1. It has a beamwidth of 360° (H-plane) and 60° (E-plane). This omnidirectional antenna consists of an antenna array under a single compact radome. It is available in active or passive models. In the active model, the active part of this antenna protects the system from excessive field strengths and boosts low-level signals while in the passive type, the antenna features a passive-bypass mode, which is engaged when the antenna is not powered. It can be used for low distortion measurements when operated in passive mode and in the presence of high incident fields.
The OMNI-A0258 is equipped with lightning protection against induced surges on the RF feeder cables, as well as electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. For the active version, it requires a DC supply from 13 to 24 V and consumes less than 150 mA of current. This antenna is available in an IP63-rated enclosure that measures 8.00 x 6.50 mm with N-type (female) connectors and is ideal for general spectrum monitoring, internal limiter for EMC testing, mast-mount, and vehicle-mount applications.
