The Chamber 2b from Antenna Systems Solutions is a Multi-Axis (Planar, Cylindrical, Spherical) Near Field Antenna Test system for measuring large antennas. It was developed to measure large satellite antennas that operate at a frequency range from 1 to 40 GHz. The chamber has a scan area of 4.75 x 4.75 m with a horizontal axis velocity of up to 10 cm/s and a vertical axis velocity of up to 33 cm/s. It has horizontal and vertical spindles, both with diameters of 40 cm.
The chamber has positioners for roll-over azimuth adjustment of antenna-under-test (AUT) and for polarization of probe. The positioner for AUT also has a linear slide to enable planar, cylindrical or spherical measurements. It's lower horizontal guide is a linear ball spline that allows the 5.5 m high vertical tower to freely rotate while being supported by the upper horizontal guide. The Chamber has a strong base structure that is filled with reinforced concrete to ensure rigidity of the scanner for stable measurements.
