The 5G OTA system from Copper Mountain Technologies is a complete antenna test solution capable of performing 5G over-the-air (OTA) measurements up to 54 GHz. It provides a low-cost, portable testing option for mmWave and sub-THz measurements in anechoic chambers and 5G antenna testing. The system includes CMT’s C4209 VNA, a benchtop compact anechoic chamber, a 3D antenna positioner (Gimbal), frequency extender modules, and user-friendly measurement software developed by MilliBox. This test system supports measurements at a far-field distance of up to 133 cm, with absorbers offering suppression of -50 dB at normal incidence. It enables movements from -180° to 180° in horizontal (H) and vertical (V) planes, with a resolution better than 0.1°.

The 5G OTA test range supports a DUT that measures up to 40 x 200 x 110 mm and weighs less than 0.5 kg. It is designed with 5 flexible SMA coax for VNA to extender wiring and comprises of 3 instrument bays, each measuring 300 x 500 x 580 mm and the complete test range measuring 6 x 3 x 2 ft. This OTA antenna test system is ideal for automotive radar, aerospace, and satellite communication antenna applications.
