The SG 24 from MVG is a Multi-Probe Antenna Measurement System for frequencies from 400 MHz to 6 GHz (extendable to 10 GHz). It has a dynamic range of 70 dB (from 0.4 – 6 GHz) and a measurement time of approximately 1 minute. This antenna measurement system uses near-field/spherical or far-field technology to measure parameters such as gain, directivity, beamwidth, cross-polar discrimination, sidelobe levels, front-to-back ratio, 1D, 2D and 3D radiation patterns, radiation pattern in any polarization (linear or circular), and more. It is available in 3 sizes - compact, standard and large (standard and large CTIA certifiable) and can measure devices as long as 1.79 m (large) and up to 50 kg (using a metal mast) in weight.
The SG 24 has a goniometer for elevation tilt to perform oversampling and 23 + 1 (reference channel) probes. This antenna measurement system uses analog RF signal generators to emit EM waves from the probe array to the antenna under test (AUT) or vice versa. It uses the NPAC as an RF receiver for antenna measurements and also drives the electronic scanning of the probe array. The antenna measurement system can perform OTA measurements through the radio communication tester. The amplification units amplify the signal on transmission/reception channels to achieve optimum dynamic range.
The SG 24 is available with an anechoic chamber that measures 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.7 m (compact), 4.0 x 4.0 x 4.0 m (standard) and 5.0 x 5.0 x 5.0 m (large). It is ideal for mobile device conformance testing for LTE, 5G (<10 GHz) and Wi-Fi protocols, antenna measurement, OTA testing, CTIA certifiable measurement and linear array antenna measurement applications.
