The VMA-Q8X8 from Vaunix is a Solid-State 8x8 Matrix Attenuator that operates from 500 to 6000 MHz. This bi-directional, non-blocking matrix attenuator allows users to direct multiple input signals to multiple outputs while controlling the signal power on all paths. It provides an attenuation range of 90 dB with a step size of 0.1 dB on all possible path combinations. It can handle an input power of up to 33 dBm, has a switching speed of 2 μs, and an insertion loss of less than 35.5 dB. The matrix attenuator features single-shot or repeating programmable attenuation ramps and programmable fading profiles. It includes USB/Ethernet interfaces for control and management.
The VMA-Q8X8 can be easily programmed for fixed attenuation, swept attenuation ramps, and fading profiles using highly developed Windows API DLL files and Linux platforms. It is available in an enclosure that measures 431.8 x 330.2 x 132.8 mm with SMA-female or N-type (female) connectors and is suitable for use in Wi-Fi 6, LTE/5G/6G, MIMO, multipoint radio fading simulators, semiconductor test, and qualification labs and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) applications. It also has an optional version with an integrated Windows PC for independent operation (requires an AC supply).
