The SB49KOA from Communications & Power Industries is a Block Up Converter (BUC) that converts input frequencies from 950-2000 MHz to output frequencies from 27.5-31 GHz. It delivers a linear output power of 40 W with a gain of more than 63 dB and a gain adjustment range of 30 dB (0.1 dB steps). This BUC is based on GaN device technology to provide high linear power and efficiency. It uses MCC technology to get the most output power regardless of the number of carriers being used. The BUC has a phase noise of -145 dBc/Hz @ 1 kHz offset and spurious levels of better than -60 dB. The converter requires a DC supply of 48 V and consumes 420 VA of power.
The SB49KOA can be controlled via Ethernet or Serial interfaces. It is available in a weatherproof enclosure that measures 336 x 163 x 160 mm with N-type (female) input connector and WR28 grooved waveguide flange for output. This BUC can be mounted directly at the antenna for maximum efficiency of operation and is ideal for use in LEO/MEO/GEO systems, Satcom on the Move, VSATs, and antenna-mount applications.
