The SB52KOA from Communications & Power Industries is a Block Up Converter (BUC) that converts input frequencies from 950-2000 MHz to output frequencies from 27.5-31 GHz. It delivers a linear output power from 80 to 100 W with a gain of more than 63 dB and a gain adjustment range of 30 dB (0.1 dB steps). This BUC is based on GaN device technology to provide high linear power and efficiency. It uses MCC technology to get the most output power regardless of the number of carriers being used. The BUC has a phase noise of -145 dBc/Hz @ 1 kHz offset and spurious levels of better than -60 dB. This converter requires an AC supply voltage of 110 to 240 V to operate and consumes 800 VA of power.
The SB49KOA can be controlled via Ethernet or Serial interfaces. It is available in an IP66-based weatherproof enclosure that measures 9.5 x 8.1 x 17 inches with an N-type (female) input connector and WR-34 grooved waveguide flange for output. This BUC can be mounted directly at the antenna for maximum efficiency of operation and is ideal for use in LEO/MEO/GEO systems, Satcom on the Move, VSATs, and antenna-mount applications.
