The Falcon 50Ka from Comtech Xicom Technology is a Ka-band SSPA+BUC that up-converts an input frequency from 950 - 1950 MHz to an output frequency from 27.5-30 GHz. It delivers a saturated output power of 50 W, linear output power of 25 W and has a gain of 64 dB. This lightweight and efficient BUC has a high-efficiency GaN solid-state design that delivers high power in the toughest environments. It has a phase noise of -102 dBc/Hz @1 MHz and harmonics of -60 dBc.
This DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 complaint BUC provides extensive data logging, attenuation control, full calibration capabilities, and can be controlled from a web GUI. It has an Ethernet control interface with an SNMP option or Serial RS-422. The BUC is available in an ARINC package that measures 9.06 x 18.00 x 3.25 inches and is ideal for SATCOM applications. It requires an AC supply of 100-122 V and draws a linear power of under 250 W.
