The Ka-Band Javelin from Mission Microwave is a Block Upconverter (BUC) that converts input frequencies from 950 to 2000 MHz to output frequencies from 27.5 to 30/31 GHz. It delivers an output power of up to 50 W (~47 dBm) with a gain of more than 60 dB and has a phase noise of -102 dBc/Hz (@1 MHz offset). This BUC has an inbuilt variable attenuator with an attenuation range of 31 dB, adjustable in steps of 0.25 dB. It utilizes Mission Microwave’s proprietary power combining technology and thorough system optimization to achieve a compact form factor that can mount directly to the feed port of most satellite antennas. This BUC requires a DC supply of 28 or 48 V and can be operated by an AC supply of 90 to 264 V with a power consumption of less than 365 W.
The Ka-Band Javelin includes RS-485, RS-232, or optional ethernet interfaces for monitoring and control (M&C) and can be remote-controlled. It is available in an IP67-rated weatherproof module that measures 13.2 x 5.5 x 5.5 inches and weighs 4.5 Kg.
