The MA8114A from Anritsu is a Butler Matrix that operates from 0.6 to 7.125 GHz. This 4x4 butler matrix has an insertion loss of less than 12.5 dB and provides an isolation of 15 dB. The input signal can be applied to any input port and the matrix will distribute the signal equally to the output ports, and the phase shift of those output ports will differ depending on the input port. It has a phase balance of ±30° and an amplitude balance of ± 5 dB. This passive butler matrix can handle an input power of up to 30 dBm and has a VSWR of less than 2.4 dB. It is available in a module that measures 236.6 x 135.2 x 12.0 mm with SMA-female connectors and is suitable for use in 5G and Wi-Fi 6E/7 testing. The MA8114A is ideal for verification of 4x4 MIMO throughput in base station testing for operators and WLAN vendors' Wi-Fi access point (AP) devices.
