The BG770A-GL from Quectel is an LTE LPWA Module that operates in the Cat M1, NB1, and NB2 bands. This module is compliant with the 3GPP E-UTRA Release 13/14 specification. It integrates a MIPS 5150 processor that offers an ultra-low power consumption followed by RAM and flash that reduces current consumption to low levels in various modes, including PSM and eDRX. This module further integrates a GNSS engine that supports GPS and GLONASS systems and a cellular-based positioning engine that supports PoLTE and QuecLocatorTM. It also consists of a unique Integrated Security Element (ISE) that provides hardware-level security for the module.
This BG770A-GL utilizes QuecOpen to simplify the development of embedded applications and packs a rich set of external interfaces such as USB, UART, I2C, SPI, and GPIO (with RF control interfaces) along with status indicators to support various system applications. It ensures fast time-to-market with reference designs, evaluation tools, and timely technical support that minimizes time and efforts during the design and development. This LTE module is available in a Land Grid Array (LGA) package that measures 14.9 x 12.9 x 1.9 mm and is ideal for wireless POS, smart metering, tracking, wearable devices, and other M2M applications. It requires a DC supply of 3.3 V and consumes 192.7 mA of current.
