The RG500L-EU from Quectel is a 5G Sub-6 GHz Module that is designed for IoT and eMBB applications. It implements the 3GPP Rel-15 technology and supports both 5G NSA and SA modes. This module combines high-speed wireless connectivity with an embedded multi-constellation and high-sensitivity GNSS (GPS/BDS/GLONASS/Galileo) receiver for positioning. It has a quad-core CPU @ 2.0 GHz and is integrated with a network hardware accelerator and VPN hardware accelerator, which extends the applicability of the module to a wide range of applications such as 5G wireless routers, CPE, MiFi, business routers, home gateway, etc.
The RG500L-EU module supports multiple regions including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Oceania, and Brazil. It delivers a downlink data rate of up to 4.67 Gbps and an uplink data rate of up to 1.25 Gbps. This module requires a DC supply of 3.8 V and consumes 6.5 mA of current in sleep mode and 125 mA of current in idle mode. It can be controlled via (U)SIM, UART, USB 2.0/3.0, SGMI, PCIe 3.0, PCM, SPI, I2C, ADC, and DBI-C interfaces. The module is available in an LGA package that measures 41.00 x 44.00 x 2.75 mm with 8x antenna interfaces.
