The SC696S Series from Quectel are Multi-Mode LTE Cat 4 Smart Modules that have a built-in Linux OS. They deliver a downlink data rate of 150 Mbps and an uplink data rate of 50 Mbps. These modules are based on QCM6125 high-performance 64-bit ARM Kryo 260 octa-core processors with a built-in Qualcomm high-performance Adreno 610 graphics engine (GPU). They support worldwide LTE, UMTS/HSPA+, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE coverage and use multiple antennas concurrently at the receiver end on the same frequency band to greatly minimize bit error rate and optimize the data speed, thereby improving communication quality. These modules have a multi-constellation GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, and SBAS) receiver for fast and accurate positioning and support multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology.
The SC696S Series modules are available in three variants: SC696S-EM, SC696S-NA, and SC696S-WF (only supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth). These modules support up to 6 cameras with two of the cameras working concurrently, MIPI DSI (resolution of up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps or 1080 x 2520 at 60 fps) and recording & playback of 4K videos at 30 fps. These modules are available in an LCC+LGA package that measures 43.0 x 44.0 x 2.85 mm and can be controlled via LCM, camera, touch panel, UART, USB, I2C, I2S, and SPI interfaces.
The SC696S series modules are ideal for a wide range of M2M applications, including smart cash registers, smart POS, tax control machines, security surveillance, on-board equipment, high-end information acquisition equipment, smart robots, smart homes, smart hardware, industrial smart handheld equipment, drones, smart interphones, smart wearables, vending machines, logistics cabinets, etc.
