The CGC-510E from Com-Power Corporation is a Comb Generator that operates from 100 kHz to 115 MHz. It is designed to quickly verify conducted emissions test setups and acts as a reference signal source for verification of conducted emissions measurement systems. This comb generator simulates an EUT generating conducted EMI noise and can be directly connected to any LISN network using a standard NEMA 15-P three-prong connector and a compatible power socket. It can be utilized to eliminate any erroneous test results that may occur when test equipments in most EMI labs malfunction between any calibration intervals. The generator has user-selectable step sizes of 100 kHz and 500 kHz and frequency stability of 50 ppm.
The CGC-510E can be used in EMI labs to eliminate unforeseen errors and enables test engineers to quickly perform verification of the conducted measurement system prior to each test to assure accurate test results. It is powered by rechargeable internal NimH batteries which eliminate the need for an external cabling. When fully charged, the battery allows continuous use of the Comb Generator for up to 18 hours. It is available in an enclosure that measures 5.0 x 2.2 x 2.2 inches and is also ideal for production evaluation of components, such as cable shields and filters.
