The R&S®TS8997 from Rohde & Schwarz is a Regulatory Test System for 2.4/5 GHz wireless devices. It supports compliance tests according to the ETSI EN 300328 V1.8.1 standard (2.4 GHz band) and the ETSI EN 301893 V1.7.1 standard (5 GHz band) along with FCC §15.247 and FCC §15.407 test cases. This system employs the R&S®OSP-B157W8 PLUS 7.5 GHz module with up to eight channels at the core of the system and uses a printed RF switchboard in solid-state relay (SSR) architecture. It allows flexible operation of the connected DUT (up to eight ports) for power measurements, signal conditioning via the integrated attenuators, couplers and combiners, and RF switching to the measuring instruments. This test system supports wireless technologies such as WLAN IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth®, wireless video transmission and radio remote control.
The R&S®TS8997 supports MIMO DUTs with up to four antenna ports and enables verification of DUT behavior in crowded, unlicensed frequency bands. It supports special power measurements in line with ETSI standards, high-resolution frequency-selective measurements and DUT stimulation using a Rohde & Schwarz communications tester or golden device. This test system is controlled by R&S®WMS32 software and employs R&S®EMC32 GUI and software structure. It guides users through multistage measurements by a menu-driven navigation system as required for the technology used and the characteristics of the device under test (DUT).
The R&S®TS8997 consists of the R&S®FSV30 signal and spectrum analyzer for frequency-selective measurements and the R&S®OSP120 with R&S®OSP-B157 plug-in module for Power measurements and antenna and test path switching, combining of RF signals. It is available in an enclosure that measures 610 x 770 x 650 mm and consumes less than 580 W of power.
