The R&S®UMS300 from Rohde & Schwarz is a compact outdoor Monitoring and Location System that combines ITU-compliant monitoring, conventional angle of arrival (AoA) direction finding, and emitter location from measuring the time difference of arrival (TDOA). It operates from 9 kHz to 6 GHz (direction finding) and supports fast scans with up to 12 GHz/s across the entire frequency range. The system supports IF spectrum and demodulation up to 20 MHz, multichannel DDC signal extraction within real-time bandwidth, and has integrated GPS with a high-accuracy timestamp for TDOA applications. It has a modular design to be optimally used in various scenarios.
The R&S®UMS300 has a built-in PC that enables control software while also controlling the temperature and managing the interfaces. It comes with two software packages for various applications: R&S®ARGUS for ITU-compliant spectrum monitoring and R&S®RAMON for radio monitoring. It uses open interfaces in the operating system and hardware to allow users and system integrators to develop their own control software. This system features an Ethernet interface with a router for remote control with an option for connection via the GSM/3G/4G mobile radio network.
This monitoring and location system requires a DC supply from 22 to 26 V and consumes less than 300 W of power. It is available in a weatherproof enclosure that measures 365 x 765 x 275 mm with SMA-female and N-type (female) connectors.
