The HMC7586 from Analog Devices is an integrated E-band GaAs MMIC in phase/ quadrature (I/Q) downconverter chip with an input RF frequency from 71 GHz to 76 GHz. It downconverts a signal to an IF frequency of DC to 10 GHz. The downconverter provides a small signal conversion gain of 12.5 dB with 28 dBc of image rejection across the frequency band and has a noise figure of 5 dB. It utilizes a low noise amplifier and an image rejection mixer that is driven by a 6× LO multiplier. The mixers output for direct conversion applications and can be combined using an external 90° hybrid and two external 180° hybrids for single-sideband applications. It is available in a die that measures 3.599 x 2.199 x 0.05 mm.
The HMC7586 can be used in E-band communication systems, high capacity wireless backhauls and for test and measurement.
