The iDC-6901 from iRF Solutions is a 3U VPX RF Downconverter that converts input frequencies from 2.0 – 18.0 GHz to output frequencies from 2.75 – 5.25 GHz. It provides simultaneous down-conversion of the full 2 to 18 GHz band in eight 2.5 GHz-wide bands centered at an output frequency of 4 GHz. This downconverter employs dual-stage frequency conversion on the lowest two bands to achieve excellent spurious performance. It provides an image rejection of more than 70 dB, has a noise figure of less than 20 dB, and a VSWR of better than 2.0:1. This SOSA-aligned RF downconverter achieves high single-tone spur-free dynamic range by using state-of-the-art MMIC mixers, which enables better than 60 dB of SFDR with input signals of 0 dBm.
The iDC-6901 includes internally generated, low-phase noise PLL synthesizers to generate all necessary LO signals which are locked to an external reference. It consists of anti-alias filters that allow direct interface with a multi-channel digitizer and uses state-of-the-art MMIC mixers to achieve high single-tone spur-free dynamic range. This downconverter is available in a 3U rack-mount enclosure with VPX nano-connectors and consumes less than 50 W of power. It is ideal for wideband stare/high probability of intercept (HPOI), wideband digitization, and RFSoC processing applications.
