The RFM3112 from Mercury Systems is a SOSA-Aligned Microwave Dual Downconverter supporting Secure, SWaP-Focused Spectrum Processing Applications. It downconverts an RF frequency from 6 to 18 GHz to an IF frequency from 1.375 to 2.375 GHz. It provides an OP1dB of 16 dBm with a gain of 25 dB and a noise figure of less than 17 dB. The device has a tuning speed of 25 µs with a tuning resolution of 10 MHz. It provides attenuation of up to 31 dB in 0.5 dB steps and has a linear dynamic range of 91 dB (with 1MHz BW). This downconverter offers an IF rejection and image rejection of -70 dBc.
The RFM3112 has been built to meet SOSA specifications which means that this product is designed to meet the latest in open system standards supporting commonality among products for customers. Its design streamlines the deployment of the latest technology by increasing accessibility, efficiency, and maintaining interoperability, and configurability.
This ruggedized module is packaged in a compact 3U SOSA-aligned form factor and contains highly integrated down conversion blocks. It is ideal for broadband, volume-limited applications requiring high performance in harsh environments. Developed as a microwave tuner for demanding EW applications, the RFM3112 is also an ideal option for ELINT and beamforming systems, as well as any application requiring broadband performance in a low-SWaP, open-architecture-compliant package.
