The TAC-3290 from Mercury Systems is a Single-Channel Downconverter that converts an input frequency from 0.5 – 26.5 GHz (extendable to 44 GHz) to an IF output frequency from 500 – 4500 MHz. It has selectable bandwidths that support fast tuning for a broad spectrum of signals, enabling user operation closer to the source of the signal of interest, offering flexibility and adaptability in the field. Multiple bandwidths also offer added flexibility with increased compatibility and adaptability with downstream equipment, minimizing the need for frequent system upgrades and extending the lifetime value of and the variety of applications that can be addressed.
The TAC-3290 provides an image rejection of more than 60 dB and has a noise figure of less than 20 dB. It has spurious levels of less than -60 dBc and harmonics of -20 dBc. This downconverter has Ethernet and serial RS-232 communication interfaces and supports remote control using an SCPI-type command set. It is available in a rugged, low-SWaP enclosure that measures 7.0 x 10.0 x 1.5 inches and requires a DC supply from 10 to 15 V. This converter is well suited for applications requiring portability, reduced footprint, and unattended operation.
