The APMSYN40 from AnaPico is a Frequency Synthesizer that can generate frequencies from 1 MHz to 40 GHz. It has a frequency resolution of 0.001 Hz, an amplitude resolution of 0.5 dB, and a switching time of 50 µs. The synthesizer can generate both CW and pulsed signals with an output power of +25 dBm and has a phase noise of -142 dBc/Hz (at 20 kHz offset, freq. = 1 GHz). It has sub-harmonic levels of -40 dBc and spurious levels of less than -50 dBc. This synthesizer is calibrated to ±30 ppb and has a temperature stability ±100 ppb over an operating temperature range from 0 to 50°C. It requires a DC supply of 24 V.
The APMSYN40 can be connected with multiple units with one unit acting as the Master and the others as Slaves to implement multi-channel phase-coherent signal sources. It can provide an external reference support of 100 MHz/1 GHz. This frequency synthesizer includes an Ethernet port for local and remote connection to a PC and uses dedicated GUI software or SCPI commands for control. It is available in a compact flange-mount enclosure that measures 165 x 60 x 26 mm and is ideal for radar, electronic warfare, beamforming, spectroscopy, system clock source, and quantum computing (as RFLO for I/Q mixers and parametric amplifier pumping) applications.
