The MDS-500 from Quantic MWD is a Tuneable Frequency Synthesizer with a tuning frequency range from 70 MHz to 16 GHz. It has a bandwidth of 150 MHz, provides an output power of +16 dBm with a phase noise of -90 dBc (at 16 GHz), and has a frequency stability of ±0.025 ppm/°C. This frequency synthesizer includes an internal voltage regulator, microcontroller unit, power management unit (PMU), VCO, and RF frontend module (FEM). It has spurious emission of -60 dBc and harmonics of -25 dBc. The synthesizer requires a DC supply from 8 to 12 V and consumes less than 250 mA of current.
The MDS-500 is available in a module that measures 2.25 x 2.25 x 0.67 inches with SMA (female) connectors and is ideal for use in test equipment, space, military, industrial, transmitters/receivers, up/down converters, and test equipment applications.
