The QM42500 from Qorvo is a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 7 Front-End Module (FEM). It consists of a power amplifier (PA), single pole four throw (SP4T) antenna switch, bypassable low noise amplifier (LNA) with multiple RX states, and a power coupler. This FEM includes an integrated matching circuitry that minimizes layout area in the application. It implements die-level filtering for second/third harmonics and 5 GHz rejection for DBDC operation. This module provides closed loop power control and digital pre-distortion (DPD) optimization using the power coupler. It requires a DC supply from 3 to 5.5 V and the performance of this module is enhanced by optimizing the PA over a broad range of supply voltage.
The QM42500 supports multiple Wi-Fi and Bluetooth transmit modes that enable optimization of output power, linearity, and power dissipation to conserve power consumption while maintaining excellent linear power and edge throughput. On the Tx side, this FEM delivers an output power of +19 dBm with a gain of 29 dB while on the Rx side, it provides a gain of 17 dBm with a noise figure of 1.8 dB. It is available in a laminate package that measures 2.0 x 2.4 mm and is ideal for tablets, mobile phones, AR/VR goggles, Wi-Fi routers, and computing applications.
