The QPF4257 from Qorvo is a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 7 Front-End Module (FEM). It consists of a 2.4 GHz power amplifier (PA), a single pole double throw (SPDT) switch, a bypassable low noise amplifier (LNA), RF coupler, and a DC logarithmic power detector in a single package. The performance of this FEM is focused on optimizing the PA for a supply voltage of 5 V that conserves power consumption while maintaining high linear output power and edge throughput. It includes die-level filtering for second and third harmonics as well as 5 GHz rejection for DBDC operation.
The QPF4257 provides application feedback using an integrated coupler and constant slope voltage logarithmic power detector. On the Tx side, it delivers an output power of 26 dBm with a gain of 33 dB while on the Rx side, it provides a gain of 16 dB and has a noise figure of 1.5 dB. This FEM requires a DC supply of 5 V and consumes 365 mA of current. It is available in a laminate package that measures 5.0 x 3.0 mm and is ideal for access points, wireless routers, set-top boxes, customer-premise equipment, and IoT applications.
