The QPF4559 from Qorvo is a 5 GHz Front-End Module (FEM) for Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) systems. The FEM has an integrated 5 GHz power amplifier (PA), a single pole two-throw switch (SP2T), and a bypassable low noise amplifier (LNA). It has integrated die-level filtering for 2nd and 3rd harmonics as well as 2.4 GHz rejection for DBDC operation. The FEM also has a coupler and logarithmic power detector to provide feedback.
In Tx mode, it delivers an output power of up to +27 dBm with a gain of 32 dB. In the Rx mode, it provides gain of 15 dB with a noise figure of 1.6 dB and a 2.4 GHz rejection of 25 dB. The PA in this module is optimized for a 5 V supply voltage and conserves power consumption while maintaining exceptional linear output power with leading-edge throughput. It is available in a 16-pad laminate package that measures 3 x 3 mm and is ideal for access points, wireless routers, residential gateways, customer premise equipment and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
