The QPM5811 from Qorvo is an MMIC front-end module (FEM) for X-Band radars that operates from 8.5 to 10.5 GHz. It has an integrated T/R switch, low-noise amplifier, and a power amplifier. In the Tx path, the module delivers a saturated output power of 0.5 W with a small signal gain of 30 dB and a PAE of 45%. In the Rx path, it provides a gain of 26 dB with a noise figure of 2 dB. The compact size of this FEM supports tight lattice spacing requirements needed for X-Band phased array radar applications. It is available in a QFN surface mount package that measures 6 x 6 mm with an over-mold encapsulant, coupled with a high thermal conductivity die-attach process. The QPM5811 can perform well in high temperature environments and is ideal for communications and commercial/military radar applications.
