The SKY77573-31 from Skyworks is a Tx/Rx Front-End Module that operates from 824 to 1920 MHz. It supports quad-band cellular handsets for GSM850/900, DCS1800, and PCS1900 operation along with Class 12 General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) multi-slot operation, EDGE linear modulation, and TD-WCDMA (Bands 39/34). WCDMA switch-through support is provided by four dedicated high-linearity ports. This FEM is fabricated using InGaP/GaAs process and consists of a GSM850/900 PA and DCS1800/PCS1900 PA block, Tx harmonic filtering, high linearity-low insertion loss switches, and a multi-function power amplifier control (MFC) block.
The SKY77573-31 is a complete VCO-to-Antenna (Tx) and Antenna-to-receive (Rx) SAW filter solution. It exhibits extremely low leakage current to maximize handset standby time. The InGaP/GaAs die, switch die, Silicon (Si) controller die, and passive components are mounted on a multi-layer laminate substrate and the entire assembly is encapsulated with plastic overmold. It is available in a 42-pad MCM package that measures 6.0 x 6.0 x 0.9 mm with I/O ports internally matched to 50 ohms and is ideal for quad-band cellular handsets applications with GSM/GPRS/EDGE and TD-SCDM standards.
