The SSL889XF from Tallysman Wireless is a Dual-Band GNSS Antenna that is designed for precision dual-frequency positioning in a lightweight housing. It uses Tallysman’s unique Accutenna technology to provide dual-band GPS L1/L2, GLONASS G1/G2/G3, Galileo E1/E5b, and BeiDou B1/B2b coverage. This RHCP polarized antenna has been designed to mitigate out-of-band signals and prevent GNSS antenna saturation. It uses Tallysman’s custom XF filtering which mitigates unwanted signals and enables the antennas and attached GNSS receivers to perform optimally. The antenna features a precision-tuned, circular dual-feed, stacked patch element. The signals from the two orthogonal feeds are combined with a hybrid combiner, amplified by an LNA, then band-split for narrow XF filtering in each band, and further amplified prior to recombination at the output.
The in-built LNAs provide 28 dB of gain with a noise figure of 2.5 dB and an output P1dB of 10 dBm. They require a DC supply from 2.5 to 16 V and consume 25 mA of current. The SSL889XF antenna is available in an IP67-rated through-hole, surface-mount, or adhesive-type enclosure that measures 45 g with MCX (female) connectors and is ideal for precision GNSS/land survey positioning, mission-critical GNSS timing, autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), marine and avionics applications.
