The ASGGB254.A from Taoglas is a Single Band Active GNSS Patch antenna for GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and IRNSS bands. It consists of a two-stage LNA and a front-end SAW filter to reduce out of band noise such as from nearby cellular transceivers and this improves the probability of the wireless device passing radiated spurious emissions certification. The active circuitry is embedded between the ceramic patch and PCB base making it easy to mount directly on a PCB. It is available in a ceramic module that measures 25 x 25 x 6.45 mm with an SMD antenna and requires a 70 x 70 mm ground plane however smaller ground planes can be used.
The RHCP polarized antenna provides a total gain of 30 dB (through the antenna, SAW filter and LNA) and has a noise figure of less than 2.7 dB. It has an axial ratio of up to 17.6 dB and a VSWR of less than 3.8:1. The ASGGB254.A requires a DC supply of 1.8-5.5 V and consumes up to 11.06 mA of current. It is produced in a TS16949 automotive quality approved facility and is 100% tested for gain (S21) and return loss (S11) to ensure total consistency of performance. is ideal for navigation, commercial transportation, and asset tracking applications.
