The UBX-M10050-KB from u-blox is an L1-Band GNSS Receiver IC that is designed for battery-powered asset tracking devices. It supports concurrent reception of four GNSS constellations - GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou and provides exceptional sensitivity and acquisition time. This chip has a TTFF cold start of less than 24 s and a TTFF hot start under 1 s. It has a tracking sensitivity of -167 dBm and a reacquisition sensitivity of -161 dBm. This chip requires a DC supply from 1 to 1.8 V and consumes less than 15 mW of power in continuous tracking mode that allows great power autonomy for all battery-operated devices. It can be controlled via UART, SPI, and DDC interfaces and supports TCXO and atomic crystal oscillators.
The UBX-M10050-KB is based on u-blox’s Super-S technology that offers great RF sensitivity and can improve the dynamic position accuracy by up to 25% with small antennas or in a non-line-of-sight scenario. It has an advanced filtering algorithm that mitigates the impact of RF interference and jamming and reports them to the host so that the system can react to such events. The chip is available in a 28-pin QFN package that measures 4 x 4 x 0.55 mm.
