This Ku-Band Integrated Microwave Assembly (IMA) from MtronPTI has been designed for UAS, SATCOM and electronic warfare (EW) applications. It has Ku-band diplexer filters that are interconnected with two waveguide RF switches, a coupler and a low pass filter for harmonic suppression. The RF cables are fed from the diplexers to a separate RF module consisting of an RF board with low-noise amplifiers and an RF switch that switches the received signal between the two paths. It contains peripheral control and status circuitry for user access. This assembly can handle a CW input power of 100 W, provides an inter-band isolation of 125 dB and a harmonic suppression (2nd) of -70 dB. It has an insertion loss of less than 2 dB and a noise figure of lower than 3.8 dB. This microwave assembly,
The Ku-Band Integrated Microwave Assembly design and development modeling uses commercially available circuit, electromagnetic, mechanical, thermal, and stress analysis tools. This allows design synthesis to be effortlessly integrated into existing system synthesis at early stages in the development process. It is available in a compact package that measures 9 x 7 x 4 inches and is ideal for broadband communication datalinks used in applications like manned and unmanned aircraft, on-the-move and fixed ground stations, shipboard beyond line-of-sight wideband satellite communications and all unmanned vehicles.
