The AD1000 from Rogers Corporation is a woven glass reinforced PTFE/Ceramic filled laminate for microwave printed circuit boards. It has a dielectric constant of 10.20 @ 10 GHz and provides greater dimensional stability and mechanical robustness. It has a low, stable loss tangent of .0023 at 10 GHz and a low thermal coefficient of Dk of -380 ppm/°C. The laminate is relatively insensitive to vibrational stress and allows miniaturized circuitry without requiring complicated processing or special handling. It has a large panel size which is advantageous for “multi-circuits per panel” processing.
The AD1000 is available with a thickness from 0.020 to 0.127 inches. It is compatible with processing used for standard PTFE-based printed circuit board substrates. The laminate has low Z-axis thermal expansion along with low X-Y thermal expansion which provides excellent matching to ceramic chip carriers and other ceramic components.
This laminate is specifically developed for miniaturized circuitry for compact devices (i.e., GPS Receivers), patch antennas (where smaller size is required), satellite communications systems, power amplifiers (PAs), low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), low-noise block downconverters (LNBs), radar modules and manifolds, aircraft collision avoidance systems (TCAS), and ground-based radar systems.
