The Wideband Ka-Band Low Noise Block (LNB) Enhanced from Orbital Research converts an input frequency (RF) from 17.2 – 21.2 GHz to an output frequency (IF) from 950 – 2000 MHz. It has a local oscillator (LO) from 16.25 to 20.20 GHz and a bandwidth of up to 1 GHz. This LNA provides more than 60 dB of gain with a noise figure of 1.3 dB and has an output P1dB of up to +15 dBm. It provides image rejection of 50 dB and has a phase noise of -77 dBc/Hz (at 100 Hz offset). The LNB includes a digital step attenuator with a step size of 0.25 dB and switchable filters that offer exceptional image rejection on the bands of interest. This LNB has built-in Ethernet monitoring and control (M&C) that enables remote management.
The Wideband Ka-Band Low Noise Block (LNB) Enhanced is available in an IP67-rated module that measures 44 x 44 x 154 mm with a WR-42 waveguide input interface and SMA/N-type output connectors. The LNB requires a DC supply of 10 – 28 V and has options for customized units. It is ideal for in-flight entertainment systems with large throughput, military operations requiring ARSTRAT standard compliance, IoT, and NextGen applications.
