The Wideband Ka LNB – Superior from Orbital Research is a Ka-Band Low Noise Block Downconverter that converts an input RF frequency from 17.2 – 22.2 GHz to output IF frequency 950 – 3750 MHz. It provides more than 60 dB of gain, image rejection of 50 dB, and has a noise figure of less than 1.3 dB.
This LNB has a bandwidth from 100 to 4000 MHz and phase noise of -120 dBc @ 1 MHz offset. It incorporates a digital step attenuator that provides adjustable attenuation levels in 0.25 dB steps. The LNB can be used with an optional Ethernet Monitor and Control (M&C) system to remotely control and manage the device to save critical time. It requires a DC supply from 10 to 28 V.
The Wideband Ka LNB – Superior is available in a module that measures 44 × 44 × 154 mm and has a WR-42 waveguide input interface and SMA/N-type output connectors. It is ideal for wideband gateway carriers, communication on the move (COTM), in-flight entertainment systems with large throughput, complex global data networks with Tier 1 and 2 users, and military and IoT applications.
