VMS1610 Image

The VMS1610 from Communications & Power Industries is a Coaxial Magnetron that operates from 2.7 to 2.9 GHz. It delivers a peak output power of 1 MW, an average output power of 1.1 kW with a duty cycle of 0.0012, and maximum pulse width of 2.0 μs. This magnetron can be mounted directly into new and existing sockets and can be operated under various pulse and input conditions to accommodate wide-ranging operating requirements. It can handle a peak anode current of 60 A and an average anode current of 66 mA. The magnetron has a VSWR of less than 1.5:1, a warm-up time of 480 s, and provides excellent frequency stability, low jitter, and long life.

The VMS1610 is available in an enclosure that mates with a UG585A/U choke flange modified for clearance holes and is suitable for use in various radar transmitters in weather and air traffic control applications.
