The QT2021 Series from Q-Tech are Radiation-Tolerant Microcomputer Compensated Crystal Oscillators (MCXOs) that operate from 5 to 80 MHz. They provide a Sinewave or HCMOS output with a phase noise of -110 dBc/Hz (at 10 Hz offset) and have a frequency stability of ±30 ppb (vs. temperature). These MCXOs use high stability overtone SC-cut crystal with microprocessor-controlled compensation circuitry. They have a self-temperature sensing resonator and a dual-mode oscillator to virtually eliminate thermometry-related errors, eliminating all possible limitations that occur in TCXOs and OCXOs. These MCXOs can withstand radiation levels of up to 50 kRad (Total dose) along with high shock and vibration that occur in deep space environments. They are tested for single-event latch-up of up to 75 MeV-cm2/mg.
The QT2021 Series of MCXOs have an inherent capability to synchronize with GPS satellites at 1PPS or 10 MHz reference. They require a DC supply of 3.3 V and consume less than 90 mW of power. These MCXOs are available in surface-mount packages that measure 50.80 x 25.40 x 8.38 mm and are ideal for low earth orbit space applications.
