The Edge 1055 from Proxim is a Backhaul Radio that operates from 4.9 to 5.925 GHz. It supports 5, 10, 20, and 40 MHz channel sizes, 2x2 MIMO, and delivers a data rate of up to 294 Mbps. This radio is powered by Proxim’s WORP® that enables efficient wireless broadband access in a packet-based network. It includes an integrated 15 dBi 35-degree dual-polarity antenna and offers external connectors for an extended range. It supports 802.3af/at Power-over-Ethernet and consumes less than 12 W of power.
The Edge 1055 supports AES 128 encryption with radius-based authentication and secure management through SSL/TLS1.2, SSH, and SNMPv3. It features advanced QoS controls, committed interface rates, latency controls, IGMP snooping, and native multicast support to allow granular service level management. This radio is available in an IP67-rated metal enclosure that measures 170 x 217 x 56 mm and can withstand harsh environments, including high winds, high salt, and temperature extremes. It is suitable for Point-to-Point endpoint, Multipoint CPE, or MultiPoint Base Station.
