The Apex Orion from Trango Systems is an all-outdoor point-to-point Microwave Backhaul Radio that operates from 4.5 to 42 GHz. It provides up to 761 Mbps full duplex Layer 2 Ethernet throughput in a single polarity 60 MHz channel using multi-layer header compression and up to 1.5 Gbps full duplex in a 2+0 configuration. The backhaul system provides exceptionally high transmit power, modulation levels up to 1024QAM, physical layer link aggregation, multi-layer header compression, and XPIC enabling full gigabit performance. It also features advanced hitless adaptive coding and modulation, comprehensive management and monitoring capability, and leading system gain. The system includes both fiber and copper Gigabit Ethernet interfaces with in-band and out-of-band management and can be powered directly or over Ethernet using a PoE injector.
The radio measures 28 x 28 x 15.2 cm and can be used for carrier, enterprise, service provider, and government network applications. The Apex Orion is designed for reliability and fully supports mission-critical topologies such as 1+1 HSB, 2+0, and in the case of the Giga LongHaul, space diversity.
