The SSPA 0.020-1.000-200 from Aethercomm is a GaN Solid-State Power Amplifier (SSPA) that operates from 20 to 1000 MHz. It delivers a saturated output power of 200 W with a small signal gain of 60 dB and a power-added efficiency (PAE) from 45 to 55%. This SSPA includes broadband GaN MMICs and discrete devices that can be tuned to operate in bands of up to 2.5 GHz and can cover the GPS L1, L2, and L5 bands. It is packed in a rugged housing, making it suitable for use in high-shock environments. This amplifier requires a DC supply of 28 V. It has been launched in space and it fully survives these requirements.
The SSPA 0.020-1.000-200 has a PA Enable command to turn the amplifier ON/OFF and can maintain specific states according to the mission requirements. It also has command/control and telemetry and an EPC that operates from a standard bus voltage. This SSPA is available in a hermetically-sealed module that measures 9.00 x 4.50 x 1.75 inches and has SMA (female) and multi-paction-free TNC (female) connectors.
