The AS0820-1000 from Ametek-CTS is a GaAs Solid-State Power Amplifier that operates from 0.8 to 2 GHz. It delivers a saturated output power of more than 1050 W with a small signal gain of 55 dB and an integrated calibrated dual-directional coupler. This class-A amplifier supports AM, FM, PM and ODFM modulation formats. It has a modular design that enables easy service, maintenance and factory upgrades to higher-power models. This SSPA is powered from a switched mode power supply for high efficiency, high power factor and wide voltage range operation.
The AS0820-1000 includes a safety interlock connector, which the user can short circuit to ground, to put the amplifier into standby mode. The front panel indicators are provided to indicate over-temperature and RF interlock conditions. It can be controlled via Ethernet, USB, RS232 & GPIB interfaces. This SSPA is available in a 19-inch, 20U rackmount enclosure that measures 800 mm in depth with N-type (female) input and 7/16-type (female) output connectors. It is ideal for EMC standards, telecoms and instrumentation testing applications. The amplifier requires an AC supply from 380 to 415 V (3-phase STAR, 5 Wire) or 208 to 240 V (3 Phase DELTA, 4 Wire) and consumes 8.3 kW of power.
