The 1000SP2G4 from AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is a Solid-State Pulsed Power Amplifier that operates from 2 to 4 GHz. It delivers a pulsed saturated output power of 1 kW with a small signal gain of more than 60 dB. This Class-B amplifier is suitable for pulsed applications at low-duty factors where instantaneous bandwidth and high gain are required and includes features such as gain control and output level protection. It has spurious levels of better than -60 dBc and harmonic distortion of -20 dBc (up to 4 GHz). The amplifier is ideal for use in Test and Measurement (including EMC RF pulse susceptibility testing), industrial and university R&D, and RADAR applications.
The 1000SP2G4 has a Digital Control Panel (DCP) that allows the user to locally control the amplifier parameters. It features an LCD touch screen on the DCP along with a single rotary knob to provide status reporting and control capabilities. This amplifier shows forward and reflected power on the display and also features control functions with status indications that are available remotely via GPIB/IEEE-488 format, RS-232 serial, and Ethernet interfaces. The amplifier can also be controlled remotely. This 1000SP2G4 integrates a bus interface connector on the back panel and has a keylock on the front panel to toggle the positive control of the local or remote operation.
This RoHS-compliant pulsed amplifier is available in a 4U rack-mount enclosure that measures 19.8 x 7.8 x 28.1 inches with N-type (female) connectors. It requires an AC supply from 100 to 264 V and consumes less than 700 W of power. The amplifier has a 3A001 export classification.
