The 1200A225A AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is a Solid-State Power Amplifier that operates from 10 kHz to 225 MHz. This self-contained, air-cooled amplifier, when used with an RF sweep generator, provides more than 1200 W of CW power with a gain of over 61.8 dB. It has a noise figure of 7 dB, spurious levels of -70 dBc and harmonic distortion of up to -20 dBc. The amplifier can reproduce AM, FM, or Pulse modulation appearing on input signal.
The amplifier is protected from RF input overdrive by an input leveling circuit which controls the RF input level to the amplifier first stage when the input level is increased above 0 dBm. The amplifier stages are protected from over-temperature by removing the DC voltage to them if an over-temperature condition occurs due to cooling blockage or fan failure. The front panel indicates the operating status and fault conditions if an over-temperature or power supply fault has occurred. The unit can be returned to operate when the condition has been cleared.
All amplifier control functions, and status indications can be viewed/controlled remotely using the GPIB/IEEE-488 format, RS-232, fiber optics, USB, and Ethernet. It is equipped with a Digital Control Panel (DCP) which provides both local and remote control of the amplifier. The safety interlock circuit along with the remote switch prevents the amplifier from going into operating mode unless the external connection is made. A jumper plug is provided for cases where this functionality is not needed.
This CE and RoHS-compliant amplifier is available in a contemporary cabinet that measures 56.1 x 132.1 x 82.4 cm with N-type female connectors at the input and 7/16 DIN female connectors at the output. It has been designed for applications where instantaneous bandwidth, high gain, and linearity are required. The export classification for this equipment is EAR99.
