The 150A100D from AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is a solid-state, self-contained, air-cooled, broadband amplifier that operates from 10 kHz to 100 MHz. The device is designed for applications where instantaneous bandwidth, high gain, and linearity are required. When used with a sweep generator, it provides more than 150 watts of RF power with a gain of over 51.8 dB. The amplifier can be controlled from a front panel allowing the operator to conveniently set the desired output level. It is available in a compact contemporary cabinet for benchtop use or with the cabinet removed for rack mounting.
The 150A100D is protected from RF input overdrive by an RF input levelling circuit which controls the RF input level to the RF amplifier first stage when the RF input level is increased above 0 dBm. The RF amplifier stages are protected from over-temperature by removing the DC voltage to them if an over-temperature condition occurs due to cooling blockage or fan failure. The front panel indicates the operating status and fault conditions if an over-temperature or power supply fault has occurred. The unit can be returned to operate when the condition has been cleared.
All amplifier control functions and status indications are available remotely through the optional Remotes Package. The Remotes Package includes access via GPIB/IEEE-488 format, RS-232 hardwire and fibre optics, USB, and Ethernet.
