The 4000TP2G4 from AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is a Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) Microwave Amplifier that operates from 2 to 4 GHz. It delivers a pulsed output power of more than 4.7 kW with a gain of 66 dB, pulse width from 0.07 to 100 µs, and a maximum duty cycle of 4%. This amplifier has standard features such as TTL Gating, VSWR protection, gain control, RF output sample port, and auto sleep. It also allows monitoring of TWT helix current, cathode voltage, collector voltage, heater current, heater voltage, baseplate temperature, and cabinet temperature. The amplifier has a modular design so that the components and power supply can be easily accessed and repaired.

The 4000TP2G4 has a built-in IEEE-488 (GPIB) interface. It has a front panel digital display that shows forward and reflected average power output or forward and reflected peak power along with extensive system status information accessed through a series of menus via soft keys. This amplifier is available in a contemporary cabinet with N-type (female) connectors and is suitable for use in testing and measurement, (including EMC RF pulse susceptibility testing), industrial and university R&D, and service applications.
