The 5000A225B from AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is a Solid State Power Amplifier that operates from 10 kHz to 225 MHz. This self-contained, air-cooled, broadband amplifier when used with a sweep generator provides 5000 W of output power with a gain of over 67 dB. It is protected from RF input overdrive by an input leveling circuit which controls the RF input level to the first stage of the amplifier when the input level is increased above 0 dBm. The RF amplifier stages are protected from over-temperature by removing the DC voltage to them if an over-temperature condition occurs due to cooling blockage or fan failure. The front panel indicates the operating status and fault conditions if an over-temperature or power supply fault has occurred. The unit can be returned to operate when the condition has been cleared.
All amplifier control functions and status indications can also be viewed/controlled remotely using the GPIB/IEEE-488 format, RS-232, fiber optics, USB, and Ethernet. This CE and RoHS- compliant amplifier is available in a contemporary enclosure that measures 22.1 x 71.5 x 32.5 inches with an N-Type female input connector and 5/8 male output connector. The unit requires a 200-240 VAC or 380-415 VAC 3-phase power supply and is designed for applications where instantaneous bandwidth, high gain, and linearity are required.
