The 600A400 is a self-contained, air-cooled, broadband solid-state amplifier that operates from 10 kHz to 400 MHz. The amplifier provides an output power of up to 600 watts from 0.01 to 250 MHz and 500 watts of RF power from 250 to 400 MHz. It has been designed for applications where instantaneous bandwidth, high gain and linearity are required. This device has a Digital Control Panel (DCP) which provides both local and remote control of the amplifier. The digital display on the front panel indicates the operation status and fault conditions like if a power supply fault has occurred. All amplifier control functions and status indications are available remotely via GPIB/IEEE-488, RS-232 hardwire, USB or Ethernet interfaces.
The 600A400 is protected from RF input overdrive by an RF input leveling circuit which controls the RF input level to the RF amplifier first stage when the RF input level is increased above 0 dBm. It also has a safety interlock circuit for use with external safety switch interlocks. This circuit prevents the amplifier from going into operating mode unless the external connection is made. A jumper plug is provided for cases where this functionality is not needed.
